Born in Russia and immigrated to Wisconsin, Lera is now an actor and theatre artist in New York City. 

 

Growing up, Lera was involved in various choirs and showchoirs. Lera also trained extensively as a dancer, and was a Performance Company member at Misty's Dance Unlimited.

 

Lera recently graduated with a BFA in Musical Theatre with concentrations in dance and costume design at Drake University. Outside of performing, Lera worked as a teaching assistant in the costume shop, and designed some of Drake's theatre productions. Lera has also choreographed for schools and theatres in the Des Moines area, worked as a dance captain in various productions as well as taught musical theatre dance at DanzArts.

Post grad, Lera traveled the country appearing in regional work with Tent Theatre, Black Hills Playhouse and touring with Energy Agents and Conservation Caper

Currently, Lera resides and auditions in New York. She is the Co-Founder of Thousand Faced Theatre Company and serves as the Director of Marketing and Media. She produced and performed in Thousand Faced Theatre's Typed Out: A Miscast Princess Cabaret and the original song cycle, Songs from a Coffee Shop. This is not Lera's first venture in the cabaret world, having performed in venues such as 54 Below, Don't Tell Mama, and Broadway Comedy Club as well as producing and headlining Lera Zamaraeva: A Night of Existential Crisis at the Turner Jazz Center. Lera also currently studies with Lindsay Mendez and Ryan Scott Oliver's Actor Therapy
